The Point Bock Run sincerely regrets that some individuals did not receive registration reminder postcards until after the race was full.
The postcards were scheduled to be mailed prior to Jan. 1st but we were notified on Dec. 30th that they had not sent out. We realized the magnitude of the potential problem after 714 runners signed up the first two days and as a result we closed registration until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5th. During the time registration was closed we received confirmation that postcards were being received by out of town addresses.
Registration was reopened at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5th as planned and the race subsequently filled to capacity in 68 hours.
We place a high degree of importance on the safety and overall positive experience of everyone that participates in our event. Expanding the field to more than 2,000 runners puts both of these priorities at risk.
The PointBock Run, Inc. is excited to announce the addition of 100 entries to the 2012 run. All proceeds from these entries will support a local charitable cause. Arrangements are ongoing and the charity will be announced in the very near future.
Ninety (90) entries will be available online for $40 beginning at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 10th. These entries may be purchased on a first-come first-served basis.
Ten (10) entries will be auctioned off beginning on Friday, February 17th via Ebay. Check back for more information on this special auction.
